Hemmo is known as a freedom loving character with an enormous sense of responsibility. He is known to 'bite into' an issue and not letting go until it is resolved. Hemmo has started his working career as a marine engineer on container ships, dredging ships and last but not least chemical tankers. From his last sailing position at Jo Tankers, he was asked to join the shore team, where a new planned maintenance system was being established. This has been his 'baby' for about a year, handling various tasks from plain data-entry via user training and implementations to assisting the purchasing with the system. From this position Hemmo was asked to be the company's system supervisor. This became a 15 year career from a one-man IT support operation up to heading a five-man IT department. This in a challenging time where the company grew from a 'closed' terminal based mini-system into open systems with Windows XP, Oracle, UTP networking, mobile phones and PC's, email and Internet. The strongpoint in this process has always been the ability to get it all working and coexisting together. His main area's of IT expertise lie in Windows XP, Windows Server, Exchange and Oracle DBA & SQL Server DBA. By the 'famous' age of 40, he took a life-changing turn by quitting IT and ending up as a sail yacht-instructor. This has lead him into a life full of enthusiastic people wanting to learn a hobby and teaching this in sometimes very challenging circumstances. It also means his house is 'afloat'. In this period he was contacted by his former employees (Jeroen de Man and Frank Spaapen) who were very capable at what they were doing, but they were missing the 'tech-backup' guy. Hemmo is now our Fleet software expert and is also leading all technical implementations Hildon is facilitating. This to everybody's benefit.
He worked for 17 years on various positions within a modern chemical shipping company called Jo Tankers. Basic background when he started was accounting, commercial and IT. Jeroen has been involved from the beginning (1987) in building financial reports and analysis. He gradually manoeuvred through each and every department, studying possibilities to automate processes and improve overall efficiency. This was achieved by programming custom made applications or using generic reporting tools. Amongst others a full financial reporting tool was developed to aggregate data from the accounting system to a higher level making reporting on group level possible, consolidating different multi currency companies into holding structures, etc. Also the development of a Voyage Book was made, collecting data from voyage calculations and fixtures, enabling easy invoicing and voyage reporting. When ISO 9001 was introduced Jo Tankers developed their own incident and accident reporting system, which was compared to what was available in the market very advanced. In 1995 he got the opportunity to move away from the IT Department to the commercial department to fulfil a job as operator. The minimal requirement was to first implement the commercial solution from ShipNet A/S that was selected after a thorough investigation by a Jo Tankers project group. In 1998 he was promoted to Area Operations Manager Far East and his main function was to improve port turnaround times in the Far East port areas and to implement Account Management for his area. With success port agents were encouraged to use standardized templates reporting port delays and disbursements. Customers got better attention and were closely involved in the vessels sailing pattern. In 2001 he was asked to fulfil a new job as Manager System Development. This was required to bring back the focus to have business processes aligned with the IT tools available and get the highest possible efficiency per employee. By standardizing work routines and proper administrative manuals a company wide standard behaviour was a fact. All of this was in line with the new ISO 9001 and coming ISO 14001. In 2003 the role of Manager System Development was changed into Business Process Manager and included to seek for new tools and solutions to further optimize Business Processes. 2004 Jo Tankers prepared themselves to execute all main activities from their Bergen office in Norway, this did Jeroen to decide to market his knowledge and expertise outside the Jo Tankers organization by establishing the Hildon Consulting B.V. together with Frank Spaapen. From the first of June 2004 and onwards he has been executing various projects for ShipNet A/S who could use the combined knowledge in their aim to expand more business in the Benelux area but also in the chemical shipping market. Next to working for ShipNet as Business Consultant he has also taken care for the regional sales for ShipNet in the Benelux. In 2006 Jeroen has become Managing Director of Hildon Consulting and started exploiting a wider area of business targets. In April 2006 Vessel IT Support has been established as part of Hildon Consulting and Hildon Consulting is proud to be able to service ships calling the Rotterdam port area. For these services partnerships with likewise companies are utilized in Rotterdam and Hamburg to ensure availability of engineers. More details can be found in Jeroen's CV.

After Frank finished Hogere Technische School Hogere Informatica Opleiding in The Hague, he started working for a small software house in Zoetermeer. His main tasks were testing, writing training documentation and some COBOL programming. After that adventure he worked for 5 years for the Dutch Importer of the BMW cars. His main tasks were setting up and maintaining a computer network with NT servers and Windows PC's. The next 7 years he worked for chemical shipping company Jo Tankers. He started on the IT department on the general helpdesk. Soon he evolved to an Oracle DBA (database administrator). For 6 years he was dedicated functional application manager for ShipNet. This involved first line support, maintaining software, report problems, maintaining the database, etc. In his support role he became a wizard with SQL and got an in depth knowledge of the ShipNet database. Several interfaces were programmed in PL/SQL between the ShipNet database and other systems. As the ShipNet data became more valuable for management he was asked more and more to write operational and management reports in Crystal Reports. To secure correctness and cleanness of the data, he wrote PL/SQL procedures that checked the data input and sent email to the user if the data was incorrect or incomplete. Because of his general knowledge of IT, database and shipping, he was asked to be member of several project teams for new software developments such as Port Sea Performance (vessel shore reporting into ShipNet) and Jo Stow (stowage tool). During these projects abroad travelling made him see even more of the world. His last project (by then he had moved via several departments to Business Process System Development) was a major project, JoMis, a Management Information System (Business Intelligence). Due to his excellent knowledge of system data his main task was to help the programmers find their way in the data, check the programming and make sure that the required data was in the ShipNet database. In the beginning of 2004 Frank started Hildon Consulting BV together with his Jo Tankers colleague and friend, Jeroen de Man. They started a partnership with ShipNet AS. His main tasks were reporting and database technical things. He developed many custom made reports for major shipping companies all over the world, locally on site or remotely. Even a Crystal Reports combined ShipNet database training in Algeria. For two shipping companies that merged he merged their Oracle ShipNet databases ensuring the data integrity. Other tasks were regular consultancy, implementing new customers (CMS pilot, SNIOS, CRS). Outside office hours one of Frank's hobbies is developing websites. He also likes travelling, downhill skiing, swimming and walking in the nature. Frank currently lives in the old centre of the historical town Brielle.
